Yes they have split up, Mike has a great career in gospel music. He released a great album named Salvation in Lights. If you like gospel music or not you need to listen to it great music... Great voice! I wasnt friends with Mike or anything but do remember him from high school..

My Dad born in 32. He sang this song to me all my life. His Eyes would light up and he would whistle .. And he would Sing this song by memory and in tune I might add. He knew it by heart. The Big Rock Candy Mountain. My Dad passed in 09. This is one of my Fondest memories of Him because I know " He is now in the Hobo's Paradise"

The song was written during the Depression; "The jungle fires" means the campfires in the hobo encampments down by the tracks where they waited for the trains to hitch on. For what "railroad bulls" means, it is the Railroad Police who were quite brutal back then - and they are still bastards - for a reference see Ernest Borgnine's portayal of one in "Emperor of the North".
