not to say keybed when talking of keyframe, wich is not is pine but in maple most of the time. Not let the hammers push on the underside of the cavity when pulling out a grand action, enen temporarrly . The video is well sout. Interesting ideas, etc.

Thanks , indeed they are (probably) made by Renner (but Petrof une Imadegawa heads also actually). I've seen some of that kind since then. Let me say those hammers are way too tall at 58 mm bore, (usually 48) and too little tail equilibrium is poor and wear is fast (much flexions on the shank) does not accept 3 years of Salsa play !! high string plane or a choice to get that strong tone with undercentreing and heavyness sensation.

Hello, is it Phil Ford ? Nice "hands on video" I was said taking out fast the action loke they do in factory was better for our back ! Key frame/keybed confusion, and the noise when brushing the hammers, you should may be say that that kind of lateral move of the hand on the heads is dangerous ! What is that instrument (are they ROnsen heads, or Abel ?) Cheers ! OLEK

How long does it take someone to become proficient in catia? How much practice would you recommend? By proficient, I mean good with the software enough that you can get a job with it that will ask you to model a large number of parts quickly, or good enough to be able to pass one of the catia's certificates exams.

Catia parts have .catpart extension. What workbench are you in when trying to save. What's the destination. Sometimes you may not be able to save to system locations because those locations are protected. Try saving to a memory stick, if you sometimes want to save under c:\ make a folder called something meaningful to you. Sometimes when you save, you are saving only assemblies, but catpart files don't save, but that's usually in a corp environment. I hope this hints to help you to resolve issue

Don't be silly, it's not a stupid question at all. I believe the units you are talking about are the grid units. You can change them Tool-Options-Sketcher-Grid. You can also keep the grid settings at 10mm and place the sketch, (click on and hold sketcher icon, another one should pop up, looks like it has a grid as part of it.) you can click edges that will intersect, that will create a 0,0 point in sketcher. I hope this helps, and thank for getting me out of hybernation.

i have a question: is it possible to switch (in sketching mode) from 10 (milimeters or whatever those are) to 1? I mean, if I want to create a 3 mm edge what's the setting I should change to be able to insert my own units instead of multiples of 10? Hope it isn't a very stupid question... I've always wondered that too, about if there were keyboard commands for Catia, other than 'C:*****' because that is the one thing I loved about AutoCad was the greater use of the keyboard.

Your accent is fine, I understand you. :) There's one thing I wonder, if I draw for example a triangle with lines how do I extrude it? I must be able to make it into one but I don't know how. Is there a faster way than clicking on the commands? I'm used to AutoCAD where I can write the commands like "line". In Catia I must write "C:line" and that takes too long. Thank you, Robin
