A final project for my carpentry class. The box is constructed of red oak with poplar inlays. I lathed the interior quarter-round out of no. 2 yellow pine. Its a simple locking mechanism, but the trick lies in the distance you push the sliders. Push one too far and it will disengage the dado on one end, but will engage on the other. The key is finding the proper distance to push the sliders.
